46-1 HOW HAS ISLAM BEEN CORRUPTED?

IF WE HAD LISTENED TO THIS VOICE…!😞!

TO THE GLORIOUS MEMORY OF MEHMED SEYYID BEY…

“The Truth comes from your Lord; do not be among those who doubt this!"

Quran; Al-Baqarah 147

If we had listened to this voice that echoed in the Grand National Assembly of the newly established Republic of Turkey 101 years ago, we would not have had to struggle with any of the troubles stemming from heresy, superstition and ignorance that we are still struggling with today.

Moreover, if we had listened to this voice, we would have been the sole representatives of a grand and honorable deed such as showing the beauties of the true Quranic religion to all the humanity and the Islamic world today…

We did not listen to this voice.

We not only did not listen to it, but, we also drowned that voice in the common chorus (great noise and fuss) formed by the heathen bigots who are completely against religion and the religionist bigots who are against the truth of religion.

And consequently, we did not get rid of the troubles still today. 

Nowadays, while the civilized world is preparing to establish colonies in space, we are struggling ;

• in the pits of bid’ah (innovations), superstitions, fabricated hadiths,
• with the exploitation of religion 
• with the false religion that feed on all these innovations, superstitions and fabricated hadiths, which that voice introduced to us with all their nakedness. 

We hope that we will be content with paying the price of the 101-year delay and will come to our senses. 

It was with this hope and ambition that the late Prof. Dr. Yaşar Nuri Öztürk wrote his book named “HOW HAS ISLAM BEEN CORRUPTED?” 

The voice that we did not listen to was the voice of a great scientific and intellectual hero who was raised by the Anatolian soil ; Mehmed Seyyid Bey. 

Mehmed Seyyid Bey ;

• was a professor of Islamic law and İzmir Deputy and at the same time, 
• was one of the important thinkers and scholars of the Republican revolution in context of the subject of heresies and superstitions and 
• he also served as the Minister of Justice in the first Republican governments. 

Prof. Dr. Yaşar Nuri Öztürk drew our attention to the position and potential of modern Turkey, which he saw as the greatest hope and opportunity in the fight against the corruption and corruptors of Islam. 

Mehmed Seyyid Bey was not just a statesman or a politician. 

In addition to these qualities, perhaps even before them, he was a scientist and a mujtahid religious scholar. 

The scientific and intellectual cadres of the Republic of Turkey, who are devoted to the Quran, have learned a lot and will continue to learn a lot from him. 

Yaşar Nuri Öztürk Hodja states that he is honored to express his gratitude and appreciation to him as one of those scientific and intellectual personalities of Turkey. 

Mehmed Seyyid Bey was a revolutionary thinker who had a very good grasp of the  DIALECTICS OF THE QUR’AN. 

DIALECTICS OF THE QUR’AN, as expressed by Yaşar Nuri Öztürk, means the cyphers of universal coordinates of existence and being which Qur’an is immanently inclusive of. 

And,  Mehmed Seyyid Bey, being a sincere believer of Qur’an, was a man who had a high level of grasp of such cyphers of the universal coordinates that the Qur'an is immanently inclusive of.

The historic speech he gave while the ABOLITION OF THE CALIPHATE was being discussed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey reveals how much he was familiar with Islamic religious sciences and sources and his ability to make intellectual syntheses our of those sources. 

This speech he gave in 1924 was later published as a book under the title “THE NATURE OF THE CALIPHATE”. 

In this speech of him, he stated ;

• that the caliphate was not a religious issue, 
• but it was a political issue, 
• that in its essence, it delt with the people’s electing the person or the people who would govern them,
• that superstitious and reactionary circles had turned the issue of the caliphate into a revelation-otherworldly-religious issue, 
• and that, in order to deceive the people, those supersititious and reactionary circles had resorted to countless distortions to keep this corrupted understanding alive. 

In this historical speech, he explained with evidence and showed the harm and damage that innovations and superstitions had caused to Islam. 

That is why, states Yaşar Nuri Öztürk in his book that he sees the Republic of Turkey as the country possessing the greatest opportunity and potential to rid humanity of the destructive evils such as heresy, superstition, political exploitation and hadith fabrication that have besieged Islam. 

He also states that he has greatly benefited from the works of Mehmed Seyyid Bey, whom he regards as one of the great intellectual architects of the young Republic of Turkey.

Thus, I, Abdullah, am feeling it an onligation for myself to share with you the corrupted subjects and concepts of Islam which have authoritatively been explained by the late Prof. Dr. Yaşar Nuri Öztürk in his book “HOW HAS ISLAM BEEN CORRUPTED?”
