49-1 HOW HAS ISLAM BEEN CORRUPTED?

49-1 HOW HAS ISLAM BEEN CORRUPTED?

كيف تم تحريف و إفساد الإسلام؟

(Sh. 528-531)

THROWING STONES

(Punishment of killing adultery criminals by throwing stones onto them)

Rajm (ألرجم) means stoning to death in Arabic.

As a jurisprudential (الفقحي) term, it refers to the killing, by stoning in front of the public, of a married woman or a married man who has committed the crime of adultery

However, THERE EXISTS NO SUCH A PUNISHMENT IN QUR’AN.

The Quran imposes only one punishment, without making any distinction of married or single, for a crime of adultery to be proved by witnesses definitely and undeniably.

This punishment is the beating of the criminal of adultery and is executed, upon the juristical approval of public authority, in form of beating eighty (80) times with a stick, rod, whip, etc., at a place where a group of people can watch this punishment.

(see Surah An-Nur, 2-3).

It is unanimously accepted that this beating should not be done with the intention of wounding or killing the adulterer.

The aim of this punishment is to deter the criminal-s of adultery by SHAMING them before the public.

In short, THE QUR’AN IMPOSES ONLY PUNISHMENT OF BEATING FOR THE CRIME OF ADULTERY.

And, this punishment is applied by HALVING the quantity (80/2=40) of beating if the adulterer is a male or female SLAVE.

(see Nisa, 25)

Stoning to death is a punishment imposed by the JEWISH RELIGION IN THEIR BOOK TORAH

(see Exodus, chapter 23; Leviticus, chapter 20; Deuteronomy, chapter 22).

As head of state of the first Muslim CITY-STATE in Madinah, Prophet Muhammad made and applied his juristical decisions in accordance with the tribal and religious laws of each of the JEWISH and ARAB tribes who were yet non-Muslim members of this multi-faith union.

So, he may have applied the punishment of stoning to death, to the JEWS who committed adultery, according to their own JEWISH LAWS in their JEWISH HOLY BOOKS and by their own JEWISH TRIBAL CONSENT.

Indeed, the early Muslim sources clearly state that the first male and female persons to whom punishment of stoning was applied were JEWS (see Bukhari, hudud; Muslim, hudud; Imam Malik; Muwatta', hudud).

According to a statement by Bayhaqi, the Prophet said the following while implementing this ruling of stoning:

“This is the RULING OF TORAH.”

(see Beyhaqi; Dalâil, 6/269-271)

We do not find reliable and trustworthy any of the narrations that the Prophet Muhammad applied this punishment to Muslims as well.

How does a prophet apply punishment of stoning to death for a crime, in spite of the fact that the book (Quran) revealed to him already imposed the punishment of ONLY BEATING for the very same crime?

In his famous FAREWELL SERMON, the Prophet addressed to the congregation regarding the mutual rights of men and women over each other as follows : “As for your rights over women : they (women) shall not share your bed with anyone else. If they do so, then beat them only in such a way NOT TO HURT them.”

(Beyhaqi; Delâil, 5/436)

In light of the above, a prophet who spoke so on the subject of rights of men over women would not be consistent with himself, if he approves stoning a married person to death for adultery.

The pages of Islamic jurisprudence books of the middle ages which LEGITIMIZE the punishment of STONING TO DEATH are PITCH-BLACK PAGES OF SHAME, SIN AND SLANDER TO ISLAM AND ITS PROPHET.

The still existence of those pitch-black pages in the books of this holy religion of Islam, especially in the translations and commentaries of the Holy Quran (as phrases in parentheses) clearly indicates how badly has this beautiful religion been corrupted.
