HORRIFIC FEMICIDES committed in Turkiye
FROM THE BOOK TO ENLIGHTENMENT… I
(HORRIFIC FEMICIDES committed in Turkiye)
In his interview titled “FROM THE BOOK TO ENLIGHTENMENT,” broadcast on the TV channel named SOKAK TV on February 25, 2015, the late Prof. Dr. Yaşar Nuri Öztürk highlights vital problems in Turkiye.
In this first 15-minute segment of the interview, the late Yaşar Nuri Öztürk provides a situation assessment—as if noting it down for history—within the context of the HORRIFIC FEMICIDES committed in Turkiye.
The late scholar notes that the ACTUAL REASON underlying the problem of "LIBIDINAL RAMPAGE & LUST" in the Islamic world—that is the main cause that "corrupts the libidinal subconscious of Muslims"—is the "INVENTED and FAKE RELIGION and THE PROPAGANDISTS of THIS INVENTED & FAKE RELIGION."
In summary, he states the following:
- The primary discipline of Islamic religious sciences is FIQH (Jurisprudence).
- The darkest and most shameful pages of Islamic jurisprudence are those containing PROVISIONS REGARDING WOMEN.
- The BASES for what is written regarding WOMEN on these dark and shameful pages are FABRICATED and GROUNDLESS WORDS claimed to be belonging to Prophet Muhammad under the guise of HADITH.
- The so-called great scholar of the science of Islamic jurisprudence, Ibn Qudamah—whom Yaşar Nuri Öztürk characterizes as the "TURBANED DEVIL"—states:
- "Marriage conducted with a woman is an agreement of malikiyyah (ownership) based on sexuality, and its essence is sexuality," and adds:
- "The marriage contract (nikah) is made solely for the purpose of the man possessing the woman's sexuality and to regulate the right to benefit only from her sexuality. In cases where the woman loses her sexual characteristics—meaning when disruptions appear in the woman’s sexuality—the man may cease his expenditures for the woman!"
- As a basis for this ruling, this "TURBANED DEVIL" cites the "lease contract" made between a landlord and a tenant as an example, saying:
- "Just as a tenant is not responsible for the repair or rectification of permanent damages that occur in the rented house—that is, the repair of permanent damages in the subject house belongs to the landlord—likewise, a husband is not responsible for the rectification of 'malfunctions' that may occur in his wife's sexuality in the form of losing sexual attraction, nor for the treatment of her illnesses!"
For this reason, the late scholar RECOMMENDS THAT WE SHOULD LEARN our religion not from FIQH, which is full of such dark and shameful pages, but from the QUR'AN.
- He says: Learn the REVEALED TRUE ISLAM in the QUR'AN, not the INVENTED FAKE ISLAM.
- To learn the ISLAM IN THE QUR'AN instead of the fabricated Islam of tradition, we must READ THE QUR'AN, and furthermore, we must read it in our NATIVE LANGUAGE!
- If we do not know Arabic—which we do not, for none of us are Arabs—then we must stop reading and "blowing" the Qur'an from its Arabic original like a PARROT without understanding, and stop constantly dedicating hatims(complete recitations of the Qur’an) from the Arabic original to the souls of our deceased!
- For the QUR'AN is not a "BOOK OF THE DEAD" to be read and blown for the souls of the deceased; it is a "BOOK OF THE LIVING" that those who are alive must read, understand, learn, and strive to live by accordingly!
In this context, the late scholar states that:
- He has been RECOMMENDING READING THE QUR'AN to those who have distanced themselves from RELIGION because of RELIGIONIST propagandists who have been narrating an invented and fake religion;
- Many people who read the Qur'an upon his RECOMMENDATION realized that the Islam in the Qur'an is not the religion described by the propagandists of that invented fake religion;
- And that they have expressed their GRATITUDE to him.
I suggest we listen to the late scholar in the hope of benefiting from his wisdom.
With respect and love,
Abdullah Erdemli

Below are the technical and contextual informative notes in English for the terms used in late scholar’s interview for a deeper understanding of his theological discourse:
1. Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence):
Derived from the Arabic word for "deep understanding," Fiqh is the human interpretation of Sharia (Divine Law). While the Qur'an is seen as the primary source, Fiqh consists of the specific legal rulings and methodologies developed by scholars over centuries.
- The Conflict: The late scholar argues in his interview that Fiqh has become cluttered with man-made interpretations that are often mistaken for the "absolute word of God," particularly regarding the status of women.
2. Malikiyyah (Ownership / Dominion):
Rooted in the word mulk (property/possession), Malikiyyah refers to the legal right of ownership or total control over an object or a right.
- The Conflict: In the context of his severe critisism of Ibn Qudamah, marriage is defined as a "transfer of ownership" regarding the woman's sexuality. Thus, Yaşar Nuri Öztürk vehemently opposes this, as Ibn Qudamah reduces a human being (the woman) to a "commodity" or "property" owned by the man.
3. Nikah Akdi (Marriage Contract):
In Islamic law, marriage is not a sacrament in the Christian sense but a legal contract (aqd) between two parties.
- The Conflict: The interview highlights how certain historical jurists equated the marriage contract to a "rental agreement" (lease). This implies that if the "leased object" (the woman’s health or sexuality) is damaged, the "tenant" (the husband) is no longer obligated to maintain it, a view Öztürk rightfully labels as shameful and disgusting.
4. Hadith (Prophetic Tradition):
Hadiths are reports describing the words, actions, or habits of Prophet Muhammad.
- The Conflict: There is a major distinction between Sahih (authentic) and Mawdu(fabricated) hadiths. The late scholar argues that the darkest provisions against women in Fiqh books do not come from the Qur'an, but from fabricated hadithsfalsely attributed to the Prophet to justify patriarchal cultural norms.
5. Revealed Religion vs. Invented Religion (İndirilmiş Din vs. Uydurulmuş Din):
This is a core dichotomy in Öztürk’s theology:
- Revealed Religion (İndirilmiş Din): The pure, universal, and liberating Islam found directly in the text of the Qur'an.
- Invented Religion (Uydurulmuş Din): A version of Islam distorted by local traditions, superstitions, and political interests that have been codified into religious law over centuries.
6. Hatim (Complete Recitation of Qur’an)
A Hatim is the act of reciting the entire Qur'an from beginning to end in its original Arabic.
- The Conflict: The interview criticizes the practice of "parrot-like" recitationwhere the reader does not understand a single word. Öztürk argues that the Qur'an was sent to be understood and implemented by the living, not merely chanted as a ritual for the deceased.
