The late Prof. Dr. Yaşar Nuri Öztürk wrote a very important book that made history, titled "THE REVOLUTIONS CREATED BY THE QURAN." 

In this book, he lists the most important revolutions created by the Quran as follows:

1. The Declaration that Hypocrisy is the Most Treacherous Form of Polytheism, 

2. The Destruction of the Religious Class (clergy),

3. The Tearing Apart of the official Religious Garments,

4. The Destruction of the Official Temple, 

5. The Destruction of the Understanding that Piety is the sole Measure of Superiority, 

6. The Declaration of the Supremacy of Reason,

7. Transition from the Rule of Individuals to the Rule of Principles, 

8. Establishing Human Rights on a Foundation that is Beyond of and Independent from Beliefs,

9. Declaring the Oppression as the Only Enemy, 

10. Cursing Those Who Worship by Reading Sacred Texts in Foreign Languages which They Do Not know and Understand, 

11. Introducing the Concept of 'DECEPTION WITH GOD' into Religious Language, 

12. Opening the History of Religions and Religious Figures (clergy) to Criticism,

13. Exposing the Mentality which Substitutes Hadiths (sayings of Prophet Muhammed) as basis of the Religion instead of Quran, 

14. Making Reading and studying a Fundamental Act of Worship, 

15. Making Knowledge the Sole Measure of Superiority, 

16. Declaring the Oppressed and the Despised as the Creative-Motor Force of Mankind,

17. Declaring Labor and Surplus Value as Determining Factors,

18. Declaring that a World that Does Not Share Cannot Be Happy and Peaceful,

19. Declaring Growth of Unqualified Population as Harmful.

THE DEMOLITION OF THE OFFICIAL TEMPLE...

A place of worship is one thing, an official place of worship is another. 

We mustn't confuse these two.

There can be no religion without a place of worship, because there can be no religion without worship. 

However, the Qur'an SAYS THAT THE ENTIRE EARTH IS A PLACE OF WORSHIP, AND THAT ALL LAWFUL ACTIONS ARE WORSHIP. 

If a religion has an official temple, this means that you cannot worship outside that temple, or that any worship you perform outside that temple is a second-class (!) worship. 

Yes, the whole earth is a place of worship (i.e., a house of worship), and all lawful deeds (i.e., all lawful actions and activities) are worship (i.e., serving Allah), IN ACCORDANCE WITH QUR’AN. 

Prophet Muhammad is the ONLY PROPHET who destroyed a place of worship in the history of all prophets who ever lived. 

There are TWO PLACES OF WORSHIP in Prophet Muhammed’s life:

1. The one He BUILT, which is called as "THE MOSQUE OF PIETY" in the Qur'an, which is the QUBA MOSQUE that we all know and which still exists today in Medina. 
2. The one He DESTROYED, which the Qur'an refers to as the "MOSQUE THAT CAUSES HARM” because it was built by hypocrites with the intention of causing SEDITION and CORRUPTION among Muslims. 

If we claim to be true believers in the Qur'an, we must know and understand that Prophet Muhammad was a prophet who demolished a temple when necessary, and that he was the ONLY PROPHET to do so.
